Hyatt Place to make UK debut

Hyatt Place, the upscale select-service brand from the Hyatt Hotels Corporation, is entering the UK with the opening of a new hotel close to London Heathrow Airport next year.

Hyatt Place London Heathrow/Hayes will open in spring 2015, featuring 170-bedrooms, 1,809 sq.ft of meeting space and an open food market serving made-to-order meals around the clock.

“We are delighted to introduce the Hyatt Place brand to the third busiest airport in the world and the thriving business community in and around Hayes and Hillingdon,” said Peter Norman, senior vice president of real estate and development for Hyatt in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

“The UK remains an important hub for international business and leisure travel, with more than 70 million passengers arriving to and departing from London Heathrow in 2012 alone. The airport serves 84 airlines and 184 destinations in 80 countries, and the opening of Hyatt Place London Heathrow/Hayes will mark a significant milestone for Hyatt as we continue to introduce the brand worldwide and offer more choice to our guests in key gateway cities.”

24/7 lifestyles

Situated in Hayes - less than 15 minutes from London Heathrow – Hyatt wants its new property to ‘cater for the multitasking traveller with a 24/7 lifestyle. The upscale hotel will have a modern design, with a well-equipped fitness centre and free Wi-Fi available throughout.

Rooms will feature multiple areas to work and relax and include Hyatt Place’s signature ‘in-room Cozy Corner’. Meanwhile, the 24/7 Gallery Market will offer freshly prepared meals any time day or night, in addition to the free ‘Kitchen Skillet’, serving hot breakfast items daily.

Hyatt will operate the hotel on behalf of the developer, Magill Investments. It is the second Hyatt Place hotel under development in Europe, joining Hyatt Place Zurich Airport.

Refreshing concept

Harry Mohinani, a director at Magill Investments, said: “We are proud to develop the first Hyatt Place hotel in the United Kingdom, and to be restoring a building at the heart of the Hayes community.

“The Hyatt Place brand is a unique and refreshing concept, and we believe that this will be a very successful hotel serving both travelers visiting London Heathrow and the local business and residential communities.”
