The 88-bedroom hotel with 24-hour fitness centre is scheduled to open in Glasgow this summer following the redevelopment of a former office block on the city's West Campbell Street.
It will be Hilton Worldwide's first Hampton by Hilton in Scotland, but its sixteenth in the UK and part of its plans to increase the brand's presence to 23 by 2015.
Phil Cordell, global head, Hampton by Hilton, said the hotel would open in time for the Commonwealth Games, which will take place in Glasgow this July, and would therefore benefit from an expected increase in tourism.
“The eyes of the world will be on Scotland in 2014 as it hosts both the Ryder Cup and Commonwealth Games," he said. "As a result there can be no better time for us to introduce our own gold medal-winning brand to the country.
"With Glasgow City Council investing over £1.3bn in transport links and infrastructure over the last 12 months, the city is set to enjoy particular benefit from hosting the games. This makes it a perfect location for us to get out of the starting blocks in Scotland with a bang.”

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development Europe and Africa at Hilton Worldwide said Glasgow was a key location for the company.
“Hilton Worldwide has a strong presence in Glasgow, led by our flagship Hilton Glasgow which last year celebrated its 20th anniversary. Visitor numbers to the city are expected to grow by up to one million a year until 2016 so the time is right to go on to expand our portfolio here.
"Having successfully opened Hilton Garden Inn Glasgow City Centre two years ago we are delighted to be providing further choice for guests seeking affordable, quality, centrally located accommodation with our debut Hampton by Hilton.”
The hotel will open following an £11m redevelopment by SCOT Sheridan. Director David MacLachlan said: “We are delighted that our extensive commercial property expertise and experience with the Business Premises Renovation Allowance scheme is helping to transform an empty office building into a stunning new home for one of the world’s leading hospitality brands, creating much-needed jobs and helping to attract visitors to Scotland’s largest city."
The opening of Hampton by Hilton Glasgow will follow the openings of those in Waterloo, London next month and in Sheffield in April.
