McCain adds Gastro Thick Cut Chips and Skin-on Fries to Signatures range
Product details:
McCain Foods has added two new products to its Signatures range - The Gastro Thick Cut Chip and the Skin-on Fry - to help the casual dining sector increase its convenience options. Gastro Thick Cut Chips are made with specially selected potatoes which are peeled, blanched and par-fried before being frozen. They can be deep fried from frozen for four to four and a half minutes at 175⁰C to produce a 'light golden, crunchy exterior and a soft melt in the mouth interior'.
The Skin-on Fry is cut extra thin from specially selected potatoes with the skins left on and can be deep fried from frozen in two to two and a half minutes at 175⁰C to produce a crispy fry with a fluffy internal texture.
USP:
Both products have a point of difference from standard fries and can be used as a standard option for operators wanting to give a premium option or a menu upgrade for those who want to offer more choice.
