Suffolk-based ice cream producer Criterion Ices has added a Parmesan flavour ice cream to its 30-strong range.

Product details:

Criterion Ices has added a new Parmesan Ice Cream to its range of 30 ice creams and eight sorbets. The new flavour is based on a recipe from expert Robin Weir who in turn was inspired by a recipe created by George IV's official confectioner in 1817. Produced at Criterion Ices' creamery in Suffolk, it uses Parmigiano Reggiano to create an ice cream with a rich, complex flavour and is designed to accompany fresh fruit and antipasti.

USP:

The ice cream is the first savoury flavour to be launched by Criterion and will help open up menu options by moving ice cream to courses outside of desserts.

Price:

Available on demand.

Availability:

The Parmesan Ice Cream is first going on show at The Restaurant Show today. Visit stand J61 to try it. For those not visiting the show, the ice cream can be sourced direct from Criterion Ices. Contact sales manager Jim Valenti on 07778 842090 or email wvz@pevgrevba-vprf.pb.hx

Why you should buy it:

"Our new Parmesan Ice cream is a creative and versatile addition to any menu. It's fabulous when served with fresh fruit such as ripe, juicy pears or figs but also works beautifully with antipasti such as prosciutto crudo," said Valenti.
