King of Soho Gin launched to honour porn baron Paul Raymond

King of Soho Dry Gin - a spirit created to honour legendary porn and property baron Paul Raymond - is now available to London bars after a distribution deal has been struck with Hi-Spirits.

Product details:

King of Soho London Dry Gin is a 42% ABV authentic, premium gin distilled in central London in two small stainless steel pot stills.

The new drink is the brainchild of entrepreneur Howard Raymond, who owns West End Drinks and is now paying homage to his father who opened the UK’s first strip club in 1958 and launched soft porn magazines Men Only and Escort.

The spirit is crafted with 12 botanicals. Alongside the juniper berries which give the gin its distinctive flavour, King of Soho has a high presence of citrus ingredients including grapefruit peel balanced by flavours such as coriander seeds, angelica root and cassia.

USP:

Howard Raymond believes the unique selling point is the man he has based the drink on. “My father’s favourite tipple in the 60s was gin, a drink reminiscent of the parties and clubs of that era,” he said. “London is now driving an international renaissance of gin and fittingly The King of Soho Gin is distilled in the heart of London.”

PaulRaymond was named the richest man in Britain in 1992 with an estimated fortune of £1.5 billion. His colourful life was turned into a film, The Look of Love, released this year with Steve Coogan cast in the title role.
