Urban Meadow opened on Bayswater Road last week, with a focus on ‘contemporary wholesome food, delivered with panache’. The 205-cover venue offers a range of dining options, with a focus on Grab & Go items, sharing platters and smaller grazing dishes.
“Urban Meadow is an exciting collaboration of hearty and healthy natural dishes, combined with the style and elegance more commonly associated with city dining,” said head chef Russell Phillips.
“From dawn until late evening, it is the perfect destination, whether it’s for a coffee with friends, a working lunch or a casual dinner. With its inspired décor and contemporary menu, Urban Meadow offers diners a relaxed yet stylish venue to relax and enjoy the very best, locally sourced, British produce.”
On the menu
Phillips’s British dishes include mains such as a slow-roasted pulled pork burger in a brioche bun with celeriac coleslaw and fries; grilled sea bass fillets with capers, anchovies, black olives and smoked chilli; and roast tomato and stilton linguine with lemon and parsley breadcrumbs.
For social dining, grazing dishes include pressed duck terrine with apricot chutney andLondonsourdough toast; broad bean and ricotta focaccia with mint and pine nuts; and potted rabbit with celeriac coleslaw, pickles and focaccia.
A range of grab and go items are also available including a selection of salads, bakery items and sandwiches to take away.
With an ethos of ‘bringing the outdoors in’, Urban Meadow’s design features include natural woods, reclaimed furniture pieces, and an eye-catching oversized copper leaf display adorning the ceiling and rear wall.
Seating is relaxed and non-uniform, comprising of soft banquettes, a selection of eclectic timber stools, high-backed and sculpted scoop chairs, as well as the option of a large 12-seater sharing table.
