Turkish restaurant company TAG Restaurant Holdings is to open its first Kitchenette restaurant in the UK in Putney next month.

The all-day dining restaurant brand, which is already established in 24 locations in Turkey, Russia and Azerbaijan, will take over Malcolm John's former restaurant Fish & Grill on Putney Bridge Road for its UK debut.

As with its other branches, Kitchenette Putney will serve an all-day menu of Mediterranean and European-inspired dishes featuring under sections salad, pasta, pizza, sandwich/burger, meat and fish. The emphasis will be on relaxed dining with

London-based architecture firm Michaelis Boyd has been brought in to design the 80-cover restaurant, giving it a 'homely' look with domestic-style furnishings, warm natural timbers and handmade tiles.

TAG Restaurant Holdings managing director Piero Sardano, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing Kitchenette to London. We have had great success in other markets and I have no doubt that this latest outpost will quickly become favourite with locals and visitors alike.”

Kitchenette owner TAG Restaurant Holdings is part of the Turkish company Doğuş Restaurant Entertainment and Management (d-ream group). The company also owns Istanbul Doors, which has invested in Tom Aikens' relaxed dining concept Tom's Kitchen to help with its expansion across the UK.

The Kitchenette brand first launched in Turkey in 2005 where it established itself as a modern cafe-bar-brasserie serving food all day to eat in or take away. It went on to open further sites in Turkey before entering Russia, where it has three sites and Baku in Azerbaijan.

It is thought that the company will look to grow the Kitchenette brand further in the UK following its debut in Putney.
