Lotus Bakeries launches 'Crumb' range

Available in two particle sizes and three pack formats, the new Crumb range of Lotus Original caramelised biscuits is designed to be sprinkled onto desserts and hot drinks to add extra crunch and flavour. The range comprises a 150g sprinkler jar containing freshly baked, large coated crumb particles which are designed to top cream on hot drinks, or provide crunch to ice cream and yoghurt and two bulk packs (750g and 7.5kg) containing smaller and finer uncoated crumbs. All crumb range ingredients are suitable for vegetarians and vegans and conform to Halal regulations.

Booth believes the new ingredient offers caterers some easy ways to spice up desserts and hot drinks. As well as being used as a topping, the crumb can be used in the base of a cheesecake or added to a crumble topping for example. “By using Lotus crumb within recipes, chefs can add an additional caramelised flavour to the dish.
