Rosa's Thai Café to open fourth 'flagship' restaurant

Rosa’s Thai Café, the family-run restaurant group, has announced it is set to launch its fourth site next month in a venue near Carnaby Street.

The 80-cover Ganton Street café will open in September with a new menu and will become a flagship site for the group.

Led by the husband-and-wife-team of Alex and Saiphin Moore, Rosa’s currently operates three cafés in Soho, Spitalfields and Westfield Stratford.

“Alex and I are extremely excited about the opening of our fourth site, with a new look and feel and serving a brand new menu,” said executive chef Saiphin Moore.

Flagship

The 1,250sq.ft restaurant will feature a ground-floor bar, a basement area for 31 and an alfresco courtyard which will seat eight diners.

Saiphin’s new menu will include 15 dishes inspired by a recent trip to Bangkok and Hong Kong.

“We have worked really hard to maintain the success of our existing three restaurants and very much believe an iconic location like Carnaby Street, which is rapidly becoming a foodie destination in its own right, will allow us to build on our long term vision for growth.

“We look forward to welcoming customers to our flagship restaurant soon,” the chef added.

Modern twist

The interiors of the Ganton Street site, which will be open for lunch and dinner throughout the week, have been designed by Gundry & Ducker and will combine contemporary with kitsch.

A key feature of the new site will be an open-plan basement kitchen – described as ‘the next step in the evolution of the business’.

Rosa’s Carnaby will offer diners a meal with an average cost of £22.50. The team are also planning to offer takeaway and online ordering.

Sample Thai dishes, with a ‘contemporary modern twist’, will include Laab Moo Tod (deep-fried pork) and Yam Ped Yang (smoked duck breast salad).
