Joan Roca to appear at The Restaurant Show 2013

El Celler de Can Roca head chef Joan Roca, whose restaurant topped this year's The World's 50 Best Restaurants list, is to appear at this year's Restaurant Show.

The Spanish chef will be interviewed live at the trade show for the restaurant and foodservice sectors, which also celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, and will top a bill that includes Jason Atherton, Mark Sargeant, Angela Hartnett and Will Torrent.

More than 11,000 people from across the industry are expected to visit the show at Earls Court 2 in London over the course of three days in October to source new products and services from more than 300 suppliers, receive business advice and watch a host of live events.

Other chefs confirmed to give demonstrations at the show include James ‘Jocky’ Petrie, Carl Clarke, Steve Perle and Francesco Mazzei.

The Restaurant Show will also play host to a number of competition finals, including the National Chef of the Year, the Young National Chef of the Year, Compass Group Chef of the Year and new for this year, the UK Pastry Open.

Competition E-Cats, designed for event caterers, will also return for a second year following its successful launch last year.

Elizabeth Rigden, commercial manager of The Restaurant Show, said: “2013 is such an exciting year for The Restaurant Show, as it marks the 25th anniversary of this esteemed industry event. The show is continually evolving and developing to reflect the exciting movement in the industry and we are certainly going to celebrate this great milestone in style, with a show that delivers a diverse spectrum of valuable, quality exhibitors and live events programme that is sure to excite, educate and inspire our visitors.”

The Restaurant Show will be at Earl's Court 2, London from 7 to 9 October 2013. To register to attend visit www.therestaurantshow.co.uk.
