Cornish cider-maker Rattler has created a lower-alcohol draught version of its 6% abv cloudy cider Rattler Original in response to demand for a draught cider that can be served at festivals and on-trade outlets.

Product details:

The new 4% abv cider has been developed to complement Rattler's existing range (Original - 6%, Pear - 4% and Berry - 4%) and in response to demand for a lower alcohol original version. First trialled at the Royal Cornwall Show in June, it will initially be available on draught in August before being launched in 500ml bottles in 2014. It is also set to be the official cider of the Boardmasters festival.

USP:
The launch of the new 4% Rattler comes soon after a rebrand of the Rattler range earlier this year and was created to provide greater choice for Rattler fans. Joe Healey, commercial director at Healey's, said: “We recognise that on some occasions people might want to enjoy a cider with a lower percentage of alcohol. Rattler has become so popular over the last few years and we wanted to be able to bring that to the festival experience."

Why you should buy it:

Sales of the 6% abv Rattler Original have almost tripled over the last three years as the thirst for cider shows no signs of being quenched and this latest variant, produced on the same family-run farm, is set to be just as popular if feedback from trials are to be believed.
