Village East restaurant to close ahead of 'dramatic' refurbishment

Bermondsey Street bar and restaurant Village East is to close in July for a refurbishment which will include a 'dramatic overhaul' of the kitchen ahead of a re-opening in September.

Village East founder Adam White has designed the new interiors which will feature in the venue when it re-opens. Newly-appointed executive chef Toby Stuart has created a menu for the restaurant which will offer diners what is described as 'a high end casual fine-dining experience'.

A statement released on behalf of the restaurant said: "The planned changes will include a dramatic overhaul to the kitchen, an updated dining room, and a ground floor bar that will boast an ample dining counter alongside an inspired food and beverage offering.

"Without taking away from Village East’s character, the new design is geared towards accommodating guests in a warmer and more convivial space made for all day dining and drinking."

Village East will close its doors on 15 July.
