Matthew Clark boosts premium offering by adding new agency and boutique wineries

Drinks wholesaler Matthew Clark is aiming to help restaurants, hotels and pubs bring more diversity to their wine lists by adding a number of new agency and boutique wineries to its portfolio.

Drinks wholesaler, Matthew Clark has released a new list for 2013/14 which includes wines from a number of new agency and boutique wineries. Boutique wineries signed up include Mirabeau in Provence, which was set up by Londoner Stephen Cronk in 2009; the biodynamic Vacheron in the Loire; Bodegas Chivite in Spain and La Roncaia in Friuli while agencies include the Alsatian Zinck and Chapel Down from Kent. 

The wholesaler has also secured exclusive distribution rights for Bodegas Baigorri from Rioja and Te Kairanga in New Zealand.

Laurie Davis, wine controller at Matthew Clark said she felt offering 'interesting small parcels' from smaller wineries alongside traditional favourites from larger producers to the industry was important.

"In doing this we are offering our customers a tailored service allowing us to help them develop their wine lists from an excellent and extremely diverse range that they can tailor to suit their establishment," she said.
