The Holiday Inn London - Camden Lock has become only the second venue in Europe to implement the new lobby after it was first launched at the Holiday Inn London - Brentford Lock property in November last year.
Open lobby
Described as a 'revolutionary in-hotel experience for guests', the open lobby combines the front desk, lobby, restaurant, bar, lounge area and business centre into one open space.
The operator introduced the design after a new survey by IHG which revealed that a new breed of business travellers are no longer constrained by traditional office routines, don't necessarily work traditional hours and want one space where they can work, eat and relax instead of having different rooms for different activities.
"The Holiday Inn open lobby concept is a new offering which combines the various guest experiences in a refreshing way," said Mike Greenup, vice president marketing for Europe at IHG.
Casual
Business guests visiting the 130-bedroom hotel have access to an E-Bar with Apple iMac computers, free Wi-Fi and power outlets.
The open lobby also features a new restaurant and bar concept which boasts an all-day dining menu and a 24/7 coffee shop which gives guests the flexibility to work with comfort in the space at any time of the day.
"It is a casual, unpretentious space designed to make everyone feel welcome whether travelling alone or with a group, with kids or with colleagues and as relaxing and having fun are key to the Holiday Inn brand, with its gaming and relaxation areas, the open lobby concept stands out compared to more business-focused hotels," Greenup explained.
"It also allows guests to do all the work they need to do, but without ever looking or feeling like a business hotel," he added.
