Manchester 235 closes Fusion bar ahead of refurb and renaming
Manchester 235, which features a poker lounge, two restaurants and two bars, closed Fusion Bar earlier this month and has opened a temporary bar while building work takes place in the casino bar.
Different level
The bar will re-open with a changed name next month and, while the theme of the new space has not yet been revealed, a press statement confirmed the design firm, Dakota, would be creating a space which would: 'reflect the glitz and glamour enjoyed on the Vegas strip'.
The refurb is partly intended to increase the quality of the food and drink offer in the Great Northern Warehouse venue.
Justin Carter, venue director at Manchester 235, said: “Manchester 235 has been in the Great Northern Warehouse for close to seven years now and as a gaming destination; we have gone from strength to strength, providing the best offering in the city.
"We want our food and beverage to be on a par with that, and we’re confident that this investment in the bar refurbishment will take it to a completely different level," he added. Bar consultancy firm Escapade has also been brought in to work with the team to create a range of new drink concepts.
Manchester 235
Until it closed Fusion Bar featured an 8m illuminated glass bar, a long drinks list and a number of trained mixologists who prepared cocktails for drinkers to order while the bar was open.
Now open 24 hours, Manchester 235 includes two restaurants - Linen and Ocean Treasure - and a VIP, invitation-only bar to complement the venue's casino, poker lounge and function space.
