Pizza Express extends Leggera range with superfood salad

Pizza Express has extended its low-calorie Leggera range by adding a superfood salad and a raspberry sorbet to its menu.

Emma Woods, marketing director at Pizza Express, said the company had decided to extend the offering to customers who are watching their weight following the success of its 500 calorie or less Leggera pizza range, which it introduced in 2009.

“We firmly believe that calorie counting shouldn’t be a prison sentence so wanted to create a diet-friendly dish that was filling and packed full of flavour," she said. "When we launched our Leggera pizzas the feedback was amazing – we still get thank you letters from people who are so grateful to be able to enjoy a meal out without breaking their diets."

The £9.95 Leggera Superfood Salad, containing butternut squash, beetroot, cucumber, avocado, light baby mozzarella and balsamic vinegar, weighs in at just 295 calories while the Mini Oddono Raspberry Sorbet, added to its Dolcetti menu, is under 100 calories. Both dishes will be added to the menu on Tuesday 30 April.
