Both the Chequers Inn in Maresfield, East Sussex, and The Handsome Pig (formerly The Kings Arms) in Fernhurst, West Sussex, have been brought to market by leisure property specialists Christie & Co.
The two pubs are part of a package of five venues being advertised by the firm on behalf of Julie Palmer, Simon Campbell and Gavin Savage of Begbies Traynor.
The trio were appointed joint administrators of Powder Train on 6 February 2013.
Powder Train
Powder Train was founded by former Gale's executives Jack Bowyer and David Butcher in 2006.
As part of a joint venture, the pair teamed up with hospitality entrepreneur Paul Clark to bring Marco Pierre White's Wheeler's brand to two pubs - Wheeler's of St James's at the Chequers Inn and Wheeler's of St James's at The Kings Arms.
In October last year, the Wheeler's brand was removed from The Kings Arms which was renamed as The Hungry Pig - since then it has ceased trading. The four other sites are still trading while a sale is sought for the five freeholds.
Trading performance
"These five freeholds are amongst the more characterful pubs or inns on the market today," said Ed Bellfield, director of Christie & Co, announcing news of the sale.
The pubs are available as a group, as individual venues or in clusters.
"All benefit from good, in some cases idyllic, surroundings and good historic trading performance," continued Bellfield.
"We’re already seeing strong interest expressed from many quarters and expect that interest to grow as the market becomes more aware of their availability," he added.
