Tork creates hygiene training packs for hospitality businesses
Product details:
The packs cover hand hygiene and food contact surface cleaning - both include a training session plan and step-by-step guide on teaching the module, a quiz to test learning and a certificate which can be completed and presented to staff members who complete the course.
Both modules, specially commissioned by the company for foodservice businesses, have been put together by the Oxford School of Hospitality Management at Oxford Brookes University - the format is recognised by the organisation Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PPTL).
USP:
The training packs not only contain the required information needed to teach the modules but also links to accompanying videos which can be downloaded in a YouTube format to highlight the key points trainers should be aware of when training.
Availability:
Caterers can download the training packs from a special section on the Tork website.
Price:
Both the packs and the accompanying videos are free.
Why should you buy it?
Julie Ray, Tork product and segment manager, said: “With many commercial kitchens having a relatively high staff turnover, we hope that our new training packs will help ease the burden on caterers in the important field of training staff on hygiene matters.
"They will save the operator a good deal of time in planning and preparation, and provide the clearest information in an easily accessible fashion,” she said.
Will Oliver from catering contractor Wilson Vale is a Tork customer and said there were big benefits to having the training packs to hand: “Keeping new staff members up to speed with the latest hygiene standards is an essential task, and the new packs are going to be invaluable in helping us with our training obligations.
"The information is clearly and accurately presented, and the video clips illustrate the points brilliantly. All this is free for us to access, so I can see this as being a real boon for caterers,” he added.
