Gordon Ramsay's Las Vegas pub and burger bar to open this week

Gordon Ramsay will open two new projects in Las Vegas this week - a pub and grill at Caesars Palace and a burger bar at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill, a 290-cover pub and restaurant based on a traditional British pub, will open its doors tomorrow (18 December) with Gordon Ramsay BurGR set to open further up the famous Las Vegas Strip later in the week.

The two new projects, which Ramsay will open under consultancy with Caesars Entertainment Corp, will see the chef complete a restaurant hat-trick in Las Vegas following the opening of Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris hotel earlier this year.

He said: “It’s been incredible the positive reception Gordon Ramsay Steak has received since opening at Paris in May. We’ve been developing these different concepts for quite a while to deliver three distinct, unique dining experiences with the variety, originality, and high quality that we believe people want and appreciate.”

Pubs and burgers

Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill will be split into two parts with the pub section kitted out with TV screens showing sport and drinkers able to choose from 24 bottled beers and 36 on tap.

Jeremy Berlin, who worked for Ramsay as executive sous chef at Gordon Ramsay at the London West Hollywood and as sous chef at Gordon Ramsay at the London in New York, has been recruited as executive chef and will oversee food across both areas with the pub serving traditional dishes such as fish and chips, shepherd's pie and fried egg sandwiches and the grill serving more refined dishes such as New Zealand red snapper, whole brick pressed Cornish chicken and lamb T-bone.

Ramsay's second restaurant, Gordon Ramsay BurGR, a name which plays on his initials, will open on Saturday (22 December) and will be the chef's first foray into burger joints.

The BurGR menu is expected to take traditional burger, fries and milkshake combination 'to an entirely new level' with pork belly bao buns, sweet potato fries with vanilla powdered sugar and pudding shakes set to feature.

Burgers will be made from a mix of short rib, brisket and chuck, basted in Devonshire butter and cooked over open flames before being housed in brioche buns topped with black and white sesame seeds.

"BurGR will cater to both guests who are fans of Gordon Ramsay and who are in search of a perfect burger and shake," said Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino president David Hoenemeyer.

Ramsay's latest restaurant openings bring his US tally up to 10. Gordon Ramsay Holdings' other West Coast restaurants include Gordon Ramsay at the London, Rooftop at The London and The Fat Cow, an American-style restaurant opened in Los Angeles in October.

“Gordon Ramsay might be the only chef ambitious and talented enough to open two restaurants within days of each other without a second thought,” added Planet Hollywood vice president of food and beverage Jeffrey Frederick. “We are thrilled to bring this new restaurant to our guests and look forward to another successful collaboration.”
