The fast-casual Portuguese chicken restaurant chain, which posted pre-tax profits of £14.7m and opened 19 new branches in the last financial year, also picked up the Innovation of the Year award for its successful digital marketing campaign.
Geronimo Inns won Pub Company of the Year for the second consecutive year while the three-strong cocktail and restaurant group Burger & Lobster was voted Best New Scaleable Concept.
The Best Value Restaurant Chain award went to Banana Tree, the Asian canteen-style restaurant group founded by William Chow 21 years ago, while burger chain Byron was named Best Family Restaurant Chain for successfully catering for a range of ages of young customer, from toddlers to teens.
Soho House Group won Most Effective Restaurant Design for its new restaurant Chicken Shop in Kentish Town and Vinoteca picked up the award for Best Restaurant Drinks Offer.
The awards, run by BigHospitality's sister publication Restaurant magazine, are designed to celebrate the progress and achievements of multi-site restaurant operators who are part of the R200, a list of the 200 largest restaurant and food-led pub groups in the UK, ranked by number of sites.
