Robert Cook and Grant Hearn to headline HOSPA conference
Last month the organisation for hospitality finance, revenue and IT professionals, formerly known as BAHA, announced its annual gathering would convene under the theme 'taking investment forward'.
Hottest trends
Now HOSPA president and De Vere Hotels & Village Urban Resorts chief executive Robert Cook has been revealed as one of the speakers who will put 'the current hottest hospitality issues, trends and developments under the microscope' in the Leaders Panel discussion at the event.
Joining Cook on the panel on 22 November at the Sofitel London Heathrow, Terminal 5, will be Surinder Arora, founder and chairman of Arora Hotels; Grant Hearn, chief executive, Travelodge; Angela Vickers, managing director, Apex Hotels and Stephen Cassidy, area vice president at Hilton Worldwide.
"HOSPACE 2012 is extremely pleased to welcome and benefit from such an influential and experienced team of top industry executives," Carl Weldon, the HOSPA chief executive said.
"They will provide delegates with a balanced and insightful view about the current and future challenges and opportunities for the UK hospitality industry; and how these can be converted into long-term gain for the profession."
Leaders Panel
The panel, which will be chaired by HOSPA chairman Paul Dukes, also chairman at Kew Green Hotels, is expected to address subjects including:
- The impact of the UK and global economies.
- The legacy of summer 2012
- Legislation and Government support, especially in relation to VAT.
- Meeting guest expectations.
- 'Best practice' revenue management.
- Using social media, e-commerce and technology.
The conference as a whole will focus on getting the most out of investment in people and businesses in the hospitality industry in order to create value.
As well as the Leaders Panel, there will be finance discussions, a revenue management session, an IT debate and a number of workshops as well as a range of exhibitors plus a gala dinner and pub quiz to close the conference.
