Karimix launches range of teriyaki sauces for foodservice

Karimix, makers of hand-cooked relishes, chutneys, pastes and sauces from South-East Asia, is set to launch a new range of teriyaki sauces at the Lunch! trade show next week.

Product details:

The product has been launched by Karimix in its bid to tap into the growing demand for authentic South-East Asian cuisine.

The range includes Classic Teriyaki Sauce - a sweet-savoury sauce with hints of toasted sesame seeds; Teriyaki Orange Sauce, which has the addition of fresh ginger, garlic and orange juice to add a zesty twist; Teriyaki Sesame Sauce, enriched with miso, toasted sesame oil and seeds to give a nutty flavour; and Teriyaki Wasabi Sauce which is infused with the distinctive flavour of Wasabi to give a zingy, spicy flavour.

USP:

The range of ready-to-use teriyaki sauces are all made using mirin, a Japanese rice wine (most other similar sauce products are made using sake and sugar as a substitute), and naturally brewed soy sauce. They are ideal for using as a marinade prior to grilling or barbecuing, as a glaze, mixed with a light olive oil for a tasty, oriental salad dressing or for adding to noodles to eat stir fried or cold.

Price:

The list price is from £23.06 per case (4x1kg).

Availability:

The Karimix teriyaki sauce range is being launched at the Lunch! trade event on 20-21 September at the Business Design Centre in London. The sauces will be on offer to foodservice businesses in a standard size 1kg pack. Bespoke-sized packs of 2kg, 5kg and 10kg will also be available.

Why you should buy it:

Monica Chia, founder, Karimix UK, said:“Since launching our range into foodservice last year we have been working with chefs to fully understand their needs and what comes across loud and clear is that they want more authentic flavours and ideas for innovative ways in which to use them.  As such, we developed a range of four Teriyaki sauces that have been created using traditional recipes - but with a modern twist.”
