The 2000 sq.ft bar on Gresham Street will open at the beginning of October with Gray, a former general manager at The River Cafe, the restaurant his mother Rose Gray co-founded, overseeing the food.
Be At One Gresham Street's central focus will still be on drinks and cocktails, with the food seen as an ‘additional complement’, featuring light plates and tapas-style dishes with a European flavour.
Commenting on the acquisition of the new site, Steve Locke, director at Be At One, said: “This is a fantastic City site, we feel that Gresham Street is crying out for a top quality cocktail bar. Over the past 14 years, Be At One has grown by staying focused on delivering great cocktails, service and atmosphere when it comes to hosting our guests.
“We are looking forward to partnering with Ossie Gray and his team as his simple, high-quality cuisine will be the ideal accompaniment to what we do.”
Refurbishment
Be At One will invest about £650k into transforming the former Bar Battu restaurant. The investment will include a total refurbishment of the downstairs bar, together with the addition of a new bar in the upstairs area, ideal for private parties.
Be At One has employed 10 full-time bartenders who are already in training to develop the skills to deliver every cocktail on the 160-strong menu.
The cocktails range from classics such as Mojitos more innovative variations including The English Fizz - a mix of gin, cucumber syrup and elderflower topped with soda. Be At One also serves a selection of bottled beers and wines.
The brand already operates 12 London bars including Monument, Putney and Covent Garden. For further information on Be At One visit www.beatone.co.uk.
