Young’s set to open The Foley boutique hotel & pub
Launching in October, The Foley represents an investment of £3m by Young’s and is the 17th hotel to open under the brand, following on from The Alma in Wandsworth.
“The considerable investment in The Foley illustrates our commitment to adding value to and growing our hotel estate,” said Patrick Dardis, Young’s retail director. “The coaching inn concept is a natural evolution for the brand, allowing us to offer quality food, drink and accommodation under one roof, always retaining the pub’s identity within its community”.
The Foley hotel’s design-led bedrooms will feature contemporary bold décor and bespoke furniture. In-room facilities include flat-screen TVs, bathrooms with walk in showers, free Wi-Fi and mini-bars.
The pub and dining room provides a hub for locals and visitors, offering breakfast through to dinner. A menu of seasonal dishes will also be on offer throughout the day including daily specials and a menu of traditional British bar snacks, all cooked to order.
Ingredients will be sourced from local producers in and around the town as well as a selection of fish from the local fishmonger.
The drinks offer will include a number of Young’s signature cask ales and craft beers as well as an extensive wine list featuring a range of new and old world favourites served by the bottle or the glass.
The Foley Hotel is situated at 106 Hare Lane, Claygate.
Strong hotel trade
Earlier this year a Young’s financial updaterevealed that the group saw the strongest growth in the hotel sector of its business last year, with revpar up 14.2 per cent to £44.11.
Although the company’s food and drink sales grew on a like-for-like basis, it was the business across its 16 hotels, based in London and the South East, which achieved the biggest growth - they helped push the group’s overall revenue up 11.8 per cent to £143m and adjusted profit up 7.2 per cent to £20.8m for the year ending 4 April 2011.
Young's launched a website late last year - www.youngshotels.co.uk - which helped guests make bookings easier and which it hopes will enable the group to take advantage of the tourist market in the future.
