Hudson London, scheduled to open in early 2015, marks the beginning of an international business growth plan to introduce to brand into gateway markets around the globe. It will join Hudson’s existing London hotels, Sanderson and St Martins Lane.
"We are delighted to announce the development of our first international Hudson-branded hotel," said Michael Gross, chief executive officer of Morgans Hotel Group. “Hudson is our gateway brand, offering guests a unique and social experience, in a creative, unexpected environment. We are looking forward to bringing the spirit of our celebrated New York property to a global stage, and elevating Hudson into a truly international brand.”
The hotel’s location has not yet been revealed, but plans for Hudson London are said to ‘reflect a social and cultural phenomenon where the emphasis is placed on unique personal experience, emotion and individuality.’
Late last year, BigHospitality reported that Morgans Hotel Group will open its first European Mondrian hotel in London in 2014 with an investment of £9m into the project.
The 360-bedroom hotel is set to open in the iconic Sea Containers House on London's South Bank, overlooking the River Thames and is planning to include a restaurant and ground floor and rooftop bars.
Morgans’ US properties are located in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco. For more information on the upcoming London hotel, visit www.morganshotelgroup.com.
