Sat Bains and Tom Kitchin are among six chefs with eight Michelin stars between them who will be cooking at a pop-up restaurant on top of the Royal Festival Hall this Summer.

The Cube by Electrolux follows similar projects by the appliance manufacturer in Brussels and Milan and will be open at London's Southbank Centre from June till September.

Some of the chefs who will be heading up the kitchen at the venue include two Michelin-starred chefs Sat Bains, Claude Bosi and Daniel Clifford. Tom Kitchin and Jonray and Peter Sanchez complete the lineup.

Sound and light

The 18-cover, one table concept is designed to celebrate innovative chefs and showcase the equipment made by Electrolux Professional which supplies appliances to all the chefs who will be cooking at the restaurant.

Graham Bremer, head of marketing at Electrolux UK said: "Electrolux has 90 years of professional expertise and is used by almost 50 per cent of Europe’s Michelin star chefs. We are thrilled to be bringing such a fantastic line up of our partner chefs together for guests to enjoy and learn from."

Each chef be cooking guests a minimum of five courses from a menu containing ingredients sourced locally from the London area to match the setting. All the dishes will also be accompanied by specially chosen wines and 'unique sound and light concepts', while guests will be able to talk to the chefs as they cook and ask for hints and tips.

Semi-transparent

The venue has been designed to represent the Scandinavian heritage of Electrolux and the semi-transparent structure, complete with an outdoor terrace, will boast impressive views over the Thames and the capital from its Southbank Centre location. The launch of the restaurant will coincide with a Festival of the World at the art centre.

Bains will be kicking off the event as the first chef to cook at the restaurant from 1 June followed by Daniel Clifford from Midsummer House in Cambridge. Visits to the restaurant cost £175 per person for lunch and £215 for dinner.
