Wireless food hygiene management system launched by Kelsius
FoodCheck, launched at Hotelympia 2012, is a web-based system that automates important food safety tasks like temperature monitoring. Temperature data is stored electronically on the system and FoodCheck alerts the user of any problems so that issues are flagged up to be dealt with straight away providing greater peace of mind.
The system helps control both regular checks and preventative measures that would have previously been completed on paper-based systems to ensure HACCP processes are followed in a cheaper and more efficient way.
Repetitive monitoring
Paddy Hearty, sales director at Kelsius said the system could be used by chefs or food safety managers in hotel, restaurant or pub kitchens or store-rooms.
"Our target markets include hotels, restaurants, bars, pubs, convenience stores and other food service operations and we have been very pleased with the response to FoodCheck to date, and hope to implement trials with a number of UK customers in the coming weeks," he said.
Kelsius claim the product will replace paper-based systems that are dependent on regular and repetitive monitoring that is labour-intensive or rely on staff not making human errors.
Cook and cool
FoodCheck combines three key areas to help control food safety - delivery, cook and cool and task management. The delivery module checks safe food temperatures on ingredients being delivered, the cook and cool module controls food temperatures in storage and during service and the task management module schedules and manages regular staff hygiene tasks.
All data in the product from the Irish-based company is stored in 'the Cloud' with no paper required and the system remains secure and tamper-proof.
