Charbrew, a range of teas aimed at the younger tea drinker launched last year, has unveiled its first individually-wrapped range designed for the food service trade. 

Charbrew was launched to the retail market last year by 23-year-old entrepreneur Adam Soliman and was designed to increase the popularity of tea with a younger market.

The high-quality teas are blends of leaves, herbs, flowers and other ingredients and are served in fully biodegradable mesh pyramid bags, made of specialised corn starch. Soliman said the taste was designed to be adventurous and appeal to a younger demographic.

"There are lots of brands offering the same products but at Charbrew we aim to drive consumption by providing fresher tasting teas.  Our teas and marketing campaign appeal to younger people with a more adventurous outlook," he said.

Food Service

The teas are currently available in a national supermarket and a number of large retailers and independent stores in the UK and the company recently expanded to sell in the USA, France and the Middle East but the focus is now moving to trade and the products are now available for the first time in a food service range.

The trade range includes English breakfast, Earl Grey, green, camomile, chai and peppermint flavours and is currently available from 3663 and will also soon be on sale to industry through Caterfood.

Each bag comes individually wrapped in boxes of 15 costing from £3.60 per unit to trade, with a minimum order value of £120.
