Vinoteca to open third wine bar in Soho

Brett Woonton, Charlie Young and Elena Ares, the team behind Vinoteca with sites in Farringdon and Marylebone, will open their third wine bar, dining room and wine shop at 53 to 55 Beak Street Soho in mid April.

Set over two floors, Vinoteca Soho will offer a 300-strong wine list, with 25 available by the glass, and a frequently changing menu of modern British and European dishes.

Bag-in-Box wines will be available at Vinoteca Soho, offering environmentally friendly AOC wines. All wines will also be available to buy from the Vinoteca Soho shop or online.

The 45-cover ground floor will open from noon to 11pm and offer relaxed all-day dining. The first-floor dining room also has 45 covers and will be open for lunch and dinner.

Head Chef Will Leigh, who joined the team in 2010 to open Vinoteca in Marylebone and has previously trained with the likes of Rowley Leigh and Jeremy Lee, has created a menu of dishes featuring seasonal ingredients.

The menu will include dishes such as Grilled mackerel with rhubarb chilli and lovage, Roast loin of wild boar with polenta and gingery pears, Marinated grilled bavette steak with chips and Lemon curd and blackcurrant sorbet sandwich.

Newly appointed Vinoteca operations manager Mike Dowding, who has worked at Kensington Place, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen London and The River Café, will oversee all three wine bars. General manager Willoughby Andrews will head up head up the front-of-house team.

The interior of the new wine bar and dining room will feature exposed brickwork, tiled ceilings and iron-framed windows.
