Caddie launches housekeeping trolley range designed to increase productivity

Caddie, the France-based cart manufacturer, has launched a new range of lighter and increased capacity housekeeping trolleys with developments designed to improve productivity for hotels.

The Lotus Valet range contains several advances compared to other similar models on the market including an increased capacity of nearly 40 per cent, detachable shelves and units that allow the housekeeper to take part of the trolley into the hotel room and leave the bulk of it behind and an extra 5th castor for additional manoeuvrability.

Physical strain

Caddie claims the new range will eliminate much of the physical strain for the user by closely considering the location of the handle to match average shoulder height and by cutting the weight of the trolley by 12 per cent compared to the previous Valet Classique range. A side-opening linen bag is also included that has a side entrance to remove laundry to save housekeepers from repeatedly bending down.

"Caddie is revolutionising the housekeeping trolley market by integrating a 'Comfort' dimension, a factor largely ignored in what is a very physical job that can cause serious musculoskeletal problems," the company said.

Sizes and finishes

Lotus Valet housekeeping trolleys from Caddie are available in three sizes in various decorative or fabric finishes and can be customised by hotels with optional labels and accessories such as service bars, trays and roller shutters. Each trolley comes with integrated bumpers to prevent damage to hotel walls and an outdoor version for hotels with outbuildings is also available.

The company, founded in 1928, provides hotel equipment for hotel operators including Accor, Marriott, Sheraton and Hyatt Regency.
