The new Restaurant 23 will feature a 46-cover main dining area on the ground floor, a 36-cover courtyard and an additional private dining area and private function room with space for eight and 14 people respectively. The first floor will include Morgan’s Bar with space for 30 people.
“We are delighted for the reopening of the new location,” said Restaurant 23’s chef proprietor Peter Knibb. “It has been an ambitious move but we are thrilled to be working with a great design team to help achieve our goals. We are looking forward to opening- especially with the new addition of Morgan’s Bar, and showing diners all that we have to offer”.
The restaurant will continue to serve its unique menu, showcasing seasonal and local produce in classic and innovative dishes. With a three-course set dinner menu coming in a £20 a head, dishes include: Blythburg free-range Pork Belly with Apple Puree, Black Pudding, Smoked Potato Puree and Pork Jus; and Pan-fried Fillet of Beef, Boulangère, Artichokes, Girolles, Sweetcorn and Red Wine Sauce.
Restaurant 23 interior
DesignLSM have designed the new restaurant’s interior, ensuring that the Grade II listed building does not lose any of its original characteristics. The design has been carefully developed to be modern, yet classic, complementing every unique aspect of the building.
Restaurant 23 was first opened in Royal Leamington Spa's Dormer Place in 2006 by Peter and wife Antje. Peter had previously worked at Claridge’s Hotel restaurant under Head Chef John Williams, with Paul Rhodes at Chez Nico, and Jun Tanaka at Pearl Restaurant.
The soft launch will take place on Wednesday 22 February.
