The renovated Society Bar and Restaurant is part of an on-going refurbishment plan that has seen a £7million investment into Hilton London Olympia and is due to continue into 2012.
Barbara Matheson, general manager of Hilton London Olympia, said: “We are very excited to unveil the new Victorian-inspired look of Society Bar and Restaurant and look forward to welcoming guests from London and beyond in for a drink or a bite to eat and to indulge in the sophisticated surroundings.”
Interior design company LSM were tasked with the redesign; the restaurant interior includes mixture of red, black and cream, while the bar (pictured) now boasts a colour scheme of cyan, dark chocolate brown and burnt orange.
Noel De Munck, director of food and beverage UK for Hilton Worldwide, added: “Society Bar and Restaurant boasts an English eccentricity, especially with the unique Hat design, which illustrates the heritage of the surrounding Kensington area. We have reflected this quintessential “Englishness” in the menus, offering classic dishes with a modern touch.”
The restaurant, overseen by head chef Grant Ferguson, offers more complex dishes with an emphasis on sustainable, locally-sourced ingredients. The dishes include steak and kidney pie with mash; gammon with fruit jus; braised beef rump with root vegetables; alongside a succulent pork fillet with creamed cabbage and apple sauce; and a delicate salmon with saffron cream.
