Help a Capital Child

Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) is pledging to continue its support of Capital FM’s Help a Child charity by offering two of their burgers for a combined price of £10, with 20p of each sale being directly donated. Running from 16 January to 26 February, the charitable promotion follows the £250,000 raised by GBK since 2009 for the charity which gives financial support to grass-root projects for London’s less-advantaged children. GBK are also giving a CapitalFM radio listener the chance to win a trip to the town of Hamburg in New York for the Hamburger festival, with £500 spending money. “The capital’s best burgers and helping London’s disadvantaged kids? It really doesn’t get much better than that,” said Capital FM presenter Rich Clarke at the launch. “GBK’s support of Help a Capital Child has been phenomenal over the last couple of years, and we are all confident that this latest partnership will be the most successful yet.”

YO! Body is a Temple

To mark the New Year and tie in with the common resolution to lose weight, sushi chain YO! Sushi has launched a calorie counted menu, downloadable nutritional booklet and the Healthy Choice set menu. The nutritional information can be used by customers to create their own menus at under 400 calories. The nutritional booklet features over 90 dishes clearly labelled with nutritional information in line with the Food Standards Agency Guidelines. Alternatively, YO! Sushi’s Healthy Choice special set menu is priced at £11 and is 417 calories, featuring a mixture of salmon nigiri, pumpkin korroke, coriander tuna sashimi and edamame beans. The sushi chain is also offering diners 40 per cent off your food bill in January when you download your voucher online and show in-store.

Boodles and Bond

The Chester Grosvenor is hosting a Boodles and Bond evening to capture the world of James Bond with a casino, exclusive jewelry from Boodles and Tattinger Champagne. “Taittinger Champagne, Boodles and The Chester Grosvenor go together like James Bond, his Aston Martin and Q,” said Jonathan Slater, managing director at The Chester Grosvenor. “The Boodles and Bond evening is sure to be a sell out and set to be one of the most memorable events of 2012 with glamour, glittering diamonds and a rare insight into the world of 007.” The Boodles and Bond evening includes a canapés and Taittinger Champagne reception followed by a three course dinner with wines. Throughout the evening Boodles will be showcasing their jewellery collections and a prize draw and casino will also feature at the black tie event. Tickets for the event are limited and priced at £90 per person

Rooms for £20.12

With the average daily room rate in London to £113 in 2011 and a further expected increase of 32 per cent on rates during the 2012 Olympics, Umi hotels are cutting their usual budget prices for every day of January. Rooms will be available for just £20.12 per night, at each of the hotel group’s city locations; London, Brighton and Moscow.
