Bespoke Hotels acquires Cotswold House and Noel Arms hotels
The acquisitions mean the company, founded by Robin Sheppard and Haydn Fentum 12 years ago, now has more than 50 hotels in its portfolio, six of which are in The Cotswolds.
Bespoke chief executive Haydn Fentum said work would be done to re-establish both hotels within Chipping Camden.
He said: "These are difficult times for the hospitality, and many other industries. But both of these hotels have so much going for them, that we feel very optimistic that we can develop trade amongst both locals and visitors.”
“Our first task is to build relations with all of the local people. We really want to play our part in the local business community and help bring more trade and visitors to the area.”
General manager appointment
As a result of the move, Cotswold-based hotelier Julian Ebbutt has been appointed general manager of both hotels.
He said “I’ll be focusing on building up levels of service and hospitality in both hotels and also working hard to put all of our restaurants back on the map. This is a fantastic opportunity because there is so much going on in Chipping Campden and we want to be right at the heart of that.”
Bespoke's other Cotswold hotels include Wyck Hill House in Stow-on-the-Wold and the Frogmill near Cheltenham and, opening in 2012, Wood Norton Hall in Evesham.
The company, which owns and manages a range of different style hotels and inns across the UK, is also planning to open hotels at Greenwich Market in south East London, Streete Court in Godstone, Surrey and at Newbury racecourse in Berkshire following construction work.
Fentum added: “As our name suggests, no two Bespoke Hotels are the same. We rely on an instinct for understanding the essential character of different properties and their environment, and enhancing them with our own approach to design, food, service and marketing.
“So we will pay due respect to the traditions and history of the Cotswold House Hotel and the Noel Arms, while bringing our own stamp to both places.”
