The company that launched the world's first cubed tea bags earlier this year, is now offering Black Long Jing, Black Oolong and Yellow Tips alongside the 40-plus varieties it already sells.
Tea descriptions:
- Black Long Jing, also known as Red Plum down to its colour and deep fruity undertones, is made from the same type of leaves as the green tea equivalent. While a relative newcomer to Britain, it is thought it will suit the market well. Price: £35.50 per half kilo (£0.21 per cup).
- Black Oolong is a Fujian Oolong which has been fermented for longer than normal. Brewing a golden yellow, it had a slightly smoky taste with a full-bodied, sweet, long-lasting finish. Price: £29.75 per half kilo (£0.18 per cup).
- Yellow Tips is a popular tea with a light, refreshing, peppery taste and a smooth finish. It’s made from leaves picked very early from the plant that also provides Mao Feng green tea. Price: £39.00 per half kilo (£0.23 per cup).
Three to four grams of each tea is enough to provide up to three average sized tea pots.
Hans Verhoosel, LPV director, said: “The new teas confirm our continuing commitment to offering high quality products at fair prices for all. This is achieved through us managing the whole process, including sourcing directly from carefully selected Chinese farmers, quality checking and shipping directly to the UK, in small batches, to ensure high standards.”
On top of providing top quality teas, the LuLin brand includes teapots, hot water jugs and infuser mugs.
LPV also provides a wealth of knowledge, guidance and training covering subjects from developing a balanced tea menu to what pots to use, free-of-charge to organisations in the sector.
