Best Western, the UK’s largest group of independently-owned hotels, has recorded the most successful year to date in its 44-year history, with overall sales up 17 per cent and 21 hotels added to its portfolio.

With new initiatives including free Wi-Fi in all Best Western hotels, the launch of ‘Hotels with Personality’, and the latest three-tier brand enhancement: Best Western, Best Western Plus and Best Western Premier, corporate and leisure sales growing by 16% and 15% respectively this year.

“Best Western has invested considerably in the brand over the past 18 months,” said Keith Pope, director of Best Western. ‘Hotels with Personality’ and our latest three-tier brand enhancement gives customers more choice and clarity when booking, and easing the decision making process.

“Our increasing success at bringing in corporate and leisure business for member hotels, plus our other marketing activity, such as three TV advertising runs, the Hotels with Personality road show and a full website overhaul, have raised the brand’s profile with both consumers and hoteliers, all helping to attract quality new members to Best Western.”

Latest hotels to join Best Western include the Best Western London Highbury, Best Western Pinewood Hotel in Manchester and Best Western Palace Hotel & Casino in the Isle of Man. Applications from seven hotels to join Best Western are currently in the pipeline.

“Our quality drive is constant too,” added Pope. “And this year we have terminated membership for six hotels that failed to meet our standards.”

Best Western has over 280 three and four-star hotels in the UK, accounting for 15,495 bedrooms.
