M&B restructures operations: Three key staff members to leave

Mitchells & Butlers (M&B) has restructured the operational side of its business in a bid to simplify the company and drive forward the growth of its restaurant and pub brands.

As a result of the move, which sees the current three-channel structure turned into nine 'more focussed and accountable' brand groups, three members of the management team - Amanda Coldrick managing director, Suburban; Roger Moxham, managing director of Value and marketing and strategy director Adam Martin - are to leave the company.

Executive chairman Bob Ivell thanked Coldrick, Moxham and Martin for their 'dedication to the business' and wished them best for the future before explaining the decision for the restructure.

"This change programme will build on our track record of delivering great hospitality to our guests by streamlining the back office structure into one that can more efficiently support our customer facing teams and respond to the ever changing eating and drinking out market," he said.

Under the new structure, commercial director Robin Young becomes operations director and will be responsible for nine brand operations directors.

Working alongside Young will be Kevin Todd who takes on the role of business development director. He will be responsible for developing the company's customer service and food quality initiatives as well as taking responsibility for strategic marketing activities.

"Robin has exceptional operational and change management experience across a variety of companies and sectors and I look forward to working with him to deliver even better hospitality to our guests," said Ivell.

"We will also be supported by Kevin Todd in his new role as Business Development Director with the benefit of his substantial experience of the Company and its operations."
