Fourth Hospitality launches mobile menu and recipe system StarChef Lite

Hospitality software specialist Fourth Hospitality has launched a new web-based recipe tool which allows head chefs and general managers to quickly check recipe information in or out of the kitchen.

StarChef Light is a new mobile version of the StarChef software, providing real-time pictures, pricings, recipes and nutritional data to multiple sites which can be displayed via a Kitchen Display Unit, PC, iPhone, iPad and all other smartphone and tablet devices.

“StarChef Light gives extra flexibility and simplified, wider access to users of our StarChef recipe management system,” said Catherine Iredale, communications director for Fourth Hospitality. “The ability for users to access all of the core recipe and nutritional information in real-time has a multitude of benefits for users.”

The new initiative will help restaurant, pub and hotel chains drive consistency and control costs. It allows them to save time and money and reduces the reliance on paper and food manuals.

Complete control

“It will enable hospitality groups to have complete control over their operation while saving time and money,” added Iredale. “Particularly on the unnecessary production, printing and distribution of those weighty recipe manuals that we have all come to know and love.”

The initiative by follows in the footsteps of MyFourth; an iPad and iPhone app that the Fourth Hospitality launched earlier in the year, which is an added service to its People System software, helping companies plan labour scheduling and run fully integrated payroll.

Fourth Hospitality works with over 500 clients including Pizza Express, Jamie’s Italian, Wagamama, Carluccio's, and the Gordon Ramsay Group. Current StarChef customers include the Gondola Group, Little Chef, The Restaurant Group, Whitbread and Young’s.
