Little Chef: 19 restaurants up for sale

Roadside restaurant chain Little Chef is selling off 19 of its 161 UK sites after conducting a review of its estate.

Those available for let include eight closed Little Chefs and 11 former Burger King restaurants on Little Chef sites which continue to trade.

Simon Chaplin, director of Christie & Co, who are advising on the deal, said: “Little Chef is synonymous with convenient roadside locations and while these sites have been identified as surplus to the estate and earmarked for letting by the company, that core advantage remains for prospective tenants.

“Moreover, the sites have tremendous appeal for a variety of food and beverage and alternative uses such as retail, leisure and office accommodation. As such, we are anticipating a great deal of interest in the instruction.”

The eight closed Little Chef sites to let are located in: Edinburgh; Baldock, Hertfordshire; Hayle, Cornwall; Swavesey, Cambridgeshire; Newmarket; Sheffield; Oldbury, West Midlands; Sedgefield, County Durham.

The 11 Burger King sites are located in: Cirencester, Gloucestershire; Stonehouse, near Stroud, Gloucestershire; Mildenhall, Suffolk; Ely, Cambridgeshire; Abington, Cambridgeshire; Flimwell, East Sussex; Hellingly, East Sussex; Lincoln; Boston; Chester; Warminster, Wiltshire.

Last week, newly-appointed Little Chef chairman Graham Sims revealed to BigHospitality that the restaurant chain is planning to install electric vehicle chargers across its entire estate as part of plans to boost the brand.
