Today's sale of the 11-bedroom hotel situated on a secluded country estate overlooking Lake Windermere, follows that of four former Von Essen hotels to Gidleigh Park and ABode owner Andrew Brownsword last Thursday.
Property agents Christie & Co have been handling the sale of 26 Von Essen hotels, part of Von Essen Hotels Ltd, since the company was placed into administration in April.
Jeremy Jones, director of corporate hotels at Christie & Co, said: “The Von Essen portfolio has stimulated tremendous national and international interest. We are delighted to have concluded a successful sale on another of the assets. The Samling is a fine hotel, whose new owners are looking to invest and grow the business over the coming years."
The Samling's new owners do not want to be named, but it is thought that the property, rumoured to have been sold for just under its £6m guide price, will continue to be run as a luxury country house hotel.
A spokesman for Christie & Co, managing the sale on behalf of administrators Ernst & Young, said the remaining 21 hotels have new owners in the pipeline.
“The high interest in the von Essen Hotels portfolio is rapidly translating into completed transactions and we expect to announce further sales shortly,” added Jones.
