Jumeirah Carlton Tower relaunches the Rib Room

The Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel in London’s Knightsbridge is to relaunch its legendary Rib Room Bar & Restaurant with a new chef – Northcote Manor’s Ian Rudge – at the helm.

Having closed in July to undergo a thorough refurbishment, the Rib Room will re-launch in October with interiors designed by award-winning designer Martin Brudnizki.

The renovations include the addition of a 50-cover destination cocktail bar, two private dining rooms – one with cigar terrace – that will be decorated with emerald green carpeting, dark oak hardwood timbers and ivory and emerald armchairs.

The 132-cover restaurant will serve a menu designed by Rudge with dishes offering a contemporary take on the Rib Room’s signature steakhouse dishes, including its Aberdeen Angus Rib of Beef.

The Rib Room’s new sommelier Louise Gordon will present the wine list to customers on IPads, which features tasting notes, filter options such as price, region and grape variety, and a back story of each wine.

Michele Caggianese, restaurant and bar Manager of The Rib Room, who was recently named UK Restaurant Manager of the Year, said: “The much anticipated re-opening of The Rib Room is an incredibly exciting prospect for everyone involved in the restaurant’s next phase of evolution.

“With 50 years of exceptional fine dining and world-class service in our wake, we are committed to showing our guests why we deserve our place in gastronomic history.”
