Eden Hotel Collection, the small group of country house hotels owned by Sir Peter Rigby, has acquired Brockencote Hall hotel in Worcestershire.

The purchase of the 17-bedroom hotel in Chaddesley Corbett, increases Eden Hotel Collection's estate to five. It joins Mallory Court in Leamington Spa, Buckland Tout-Saints in Devon, The Kings Hotel in Chipping Campden and Arden Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The hotel, set within 70 acres of grounds near to the Malvern Hills, will be completely renovated by its new owner to bring it in line with other hotels in the group. Interior designer Nicholas Hollinshead, who led the refurbishment of The Arden Hotel, will be in charge of the project.

Eden will also be looking to take the quality of food at Brockencote Hall's two AA Rosette restaurant to even higher heights and has employed executive chef Simon Haigh, who helped gain Mallory Court Hotel's restaurant a Michelin star, to oversee dining there.

Expansion opportunity

Eden Hotel Collection managing director Mark Chambers said the group had been looking for an opportunity to increase its estate for some time but was keen to wait for a property that would complement its existing collection.

"Our four hotels have their own unique style and characteristics and we know that Brockencote Hall will be the perfect fit," he said.

Brockencote Hall has been owned and run by husband-and-wife team Joseph and Alison Petitjean for the past 25 years, During that time they built up a solid reputation for providing good service and food.

Alastair Murchie, the director at Colliers International who handled the sale, said: “We are delighted to have found new owners for Brockencote Hall who will be able to build on the wonderful reputation that the Petitjeans built up over their years of ownership.”
