Benugo opens latest restaurant Bishopsgate Kitchen

The restaurant is the sixth independently-branded site for the group, which also operates six Benugo cafes in central London.

Serving a rustic European menu featuring Mediterranean sharing plates as well as larger dishes such as grilled aubergine, courgette, mint, feta and pomegranate salad, and chargrilled lamb chops, mint & roast vegetable couscous, cumin yoghurt, Bishopsgate Kitchen hopes to appeal to the area’s population of office workers.

The 45-cover restaurant will also serve a traditional English and European breakfast from 8am, with baskets of bread ready for toasting available on a central sharing table, which can seat up to 14 covers.

A short wine list featuring old and new world bins is available alongside a selection of artisan Belgian draught beer.

Community destination​

The space itself is split into two areas: the restaurant and the deli. A working larder is situated in the entrance to the restaurant, displaying ingredients used in the neighbouring kitchen.

“Our offering is ideal for an area that hosts hundreds of offices and we hope to create a community destination where people will feel the same welcome when pausing for coffee or staying for a longer meal.”

In addition to Bishopsgate Kitchen, Benugo also operates Ashmolean Dining Room in Oxford, Serpentine Bar & Kitchen at Hyde Park, The Riverfront on the Southbank, London Wall Bar & Kitchen in the City, and Benugo Bar & Kitchen on the Southbank.

The group also operates restaurants, cafes and kiosks in 10 museums, galleries and castles throughout the UK, as well as 18 in-house kiosks and cafes within London City firms.
