Wareing's pie will be sold at the charity's pop-up restaurant at the food festival at Regent's Park, which starts today and runs until Sunday.
He said: "British classics are making a comeback at the moment and we’re very proud to be at the forefront of this. The Gilbert Scott pork pie with piccalilli will be our icon dish at Taste, something to really remind us all of the fantastic produce that is available locally and within the UK as a whole. We’re hoping to raise a lot of funds for Action Against Hunger to continue their valuable work."
Guest chefs set to join Wareing at the pop up across the four days include Theo Randall (Thursday), Cyrus Todiwala (Saturday) and Jun Tanaka & Mark Jankel (Sunday).
Sample restaurants
A total of 40 restaurants will have stands at the four-day festival, serving up sample dishes to an estimated 50,000 visitors in what is classed as one of the biggest marketing events for the capital's restaurants.
Top chef Rene Redzepi of The World's Best Restaurant, Noma, will fly in from Copenhagen to host a Q&A at the event this afternoon where he will share details of his unique foraging approach and talk about his progressive cooking techniques.
Chefs Michel Roux Jr, Gary Rhodes, Pierre Koffmann, Chris Galvin and Silvena Rowe will take part in THE MENU by Taste of London - a dining experience within the festival's Secret Garden area, which is new for this year.
Under the direction of Caprice Holdings chef director Tim Hughes, the chefs will attempt to create the 'ultimate tasting menu' to reflect London's dining scene for 400 diners across four sittings.
