Brazilian restaurant Rodizio Rico to open at Birmingham’s Cube

Brazilian restaurant Rodizio Rico is to open its fifth restaurant and first outside London at Birmingham’s Cube development.

Having acquired the lease on a 7,350sqft unit on the seventh level of the iconic Birmingham building, Mike Nailer, owner of Rodizio Rico, plans to launch his first out-of-London restaurant in early 2012.

The 250-cover restaurant, which opens out onto the canal side, will serve a variety of traditional Brazilian dishes, carved meats (from Rodizio skewers) and salads in an eat-as-much-as-you-like format, all served by experienced passadors.

Nailer said he had been considering opening an outlet in Birmingham “for some time”.

“It’s a big step for us to move outside of London, but when we heard about The Cube it seemed the ideal location for us.

“As an iconic building there is a real sense of exclusivity here and the canal side positioning provides a beautiful backdrop that we can utilise to an even further extent in the summer months.

“Rodizio Rico offers truly different dining experience and we are looking forward to bringing something different to the eclectic restaurant scene in the city as Birmingham’s only authentic Brazilian ‘churrascaria de rodizio’.”

Rodizio Rico also has sites in the O2, Fulham Broadway, Westbourne Grove and Islington. The restaurant at The Cube, which will also house a Hotel Indigo and Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Grill & Bar, will be fitted out in August this year.
