Edible flower cocktails at Tempo and Art Auction at Hotel Missoni
Edible flower cocktails
In celebration of the Chelsea Flower Show (24-28 May), Tempo Restaurant & Bar in Mayfair has created a series of floral-inspired cocktails using edible flowers. The Summer in Chelsea cocktail is made with lavender leaves, Cointreau and Ketel One Vodka, while Exotic Rose is made using passion fruit, lime juice, pineapple juice, Lanique Vodka Rose Petal Liqueur and Tanqueray Gin.
Abruzzo appeal art & dinner
Artist Charles Harris will be exhibiting his work in support of the Abruzzo Earthquake Appeal at Hotel Missoni in Edinburgh, for an evening of culture, food, art and wine on 19 May. Harris will deliver a speech on “The Influence of Italian Renaissance on European Art”, before guests sit down to a five-course set menu paired with Feudo Antico wines in the hotel’s Cucina Restaurant. Harris’s paintings will be auctioned off after dinner, alongside an exclusive wine selection featuring a Harris-designed label, to raise money for the appeal.
Music & Reader
The Commonwealth Kitchen at The Commonwealth Club in London is to host a series of Music and Reader events accompanied by a three course lunch or dinner on the first Saturday every month, starting in June. The series kicks off with a music event - Sam Kelly’s Blues Band Unplugged, alongside which dinner will be served. All reader events take place at lunch time.
Brain Freeze
On 31 May, Giraffe restaurants in Belsize Park and South Bank will be holding super sundae making competitions for children, and giving away free Jude’s ice cream to parents. Children aged 2-10 years will compete on the day to win a family meal for four. Pictures of all the sundaes will be posted on Giraffe’s Facebook group – the picture generating the most likes by 3 June will win a year’s supply of Jude’s ice cream.
