A new company launched this week is designed to help hoteliers improve water and energy efficiency, with the only payment required being a proportion of the hotel’s savings.

SaveMoneyCutCarbon.com aims to be a one-stop-shop for the hotel industry to find the best products and services to reduce water and energy consumption in guest hotel rooms.

The company operates on a capital-free partnership basis, which means that it will survey, supply, install and maintain the products free of charge, and share an agreed percentage of savings achieved through the reductions of electricity, water and carbon tax charges.

Alternatively, hotels are able to buy directly from the website.

Reduce waste

Mark Sait, founder and director of SaveMoneyCutCarbon.com says all products have been sourced and tested specifically for hotel usage, and place the focus on reducing waste rather than restricting use.

“We have done the hard work by testing and selecting the most relevant products in live hotel environments to remove choice anxiety and offer a simple set of products that deliver real results without effecting guest experience,” he said.

“This gives us the confidence to offer hoteliers a capital-free payment option, meaning we simply share in the savings you make, and offer peace of mind through consistency in product and installation for the smallest bed and breakfast, through to boutique hotels and the largest chains.”

Online tools

The site also provides hoteliers with an online resource to learn about savings and product options via instructional videos and related content.

A calculator tool also helps hoteliers calculate realistic usage rates and savings projections.

Radisson Blu, which has worked with the firm to test the service, said: “We were delighted with the resulting data, which not only showed excellent energy saving benefits, but also the real world savings potential that these simple products can generate, without affecting the guest’s experience.”
