Fred Sirieix, general manager at Galvin at Windows, has designed a new board game to help restaurateurs and hoteliers train their staff to deliver the very best service.

The Art of Service board game is designed to improve customer service and increase profits by raising the overall standard and job satisfaction of waiting staff. It is divided into two parts: a Pairing Game and a Restaurant Game.

In the Pairing Game, staff are introduced to basic concepts, such as business vision, mission, objectives, values and the Ten Golden Rules of Service. This game allows operators to convey their business vision to staff in a clear manner, so they know what is expected of them.

In the Restaurant Game, staff follow a guest’s journey from the moment they book through the reception area, bar and restaurant up until the moment they leave. The game tests staff skills, knowledge and attitude and teaches how to meet guest expectations. It also teaches management how to get the best out of their staff through a creative approach to training.

The Pairing Games takes 30-60 minutes to complete, while the Restaurant Game takes 1-3 hours.

The Art of Service is available to pre-order from the below website and will be delivered in 4-5 weeks.
