Charity bike ride at Exclusive Hotels, and Gluten-free menus at Le Bistrot Pierre
On yer bike!
Staff at Exclusive Hotels are embarking on a 30,000km sponsored bike ride to help raise £30k for Springboard and MacMillan Cancer Research, as part of the group’s 30th anniversary celebrations. The bike ride will begin at Fanhams Hall Hotel in Hertfordshire on 20 July, and finish at South Lodge Hotel in Sussex on 24 July, visiting all the Exclusive hotels en route. Guests at the hotels can also participate by making use of several static bikes placed in the lobbies of all the group’s hotels and golf clubs.
Gluten-free Range
Le Bistrot Pierre has cottoned onto consumer demand for more gluten-free dishes when they eat out by introducing a Gluten Free range across its eight restaurants. The range includes dishes such as fricassée of mushrooms with (or without) crispy Alsace bacon and gluten free bread; braised Scottish pasture-fed beef in thick slices, with shallots, red wine, mushrooms and bacon; and free-range ‘nature and respect’ chicken suprême with courgette ribbons, warm Calvados and apple dressing. The range is also available at lunchtime with dishes that change every two to three weeks.
Bordeaux Wine Dinner
Wine maker Jean-Charles Cazes if Chateau Lynch Bages has teamed up with The Bath Priory to host a Bordeaux Wine Dinner. Head chef Sam Moody will serve a four-course gourmet dinner while head sommelier Victor Amaro will present a selection of wines to match, presented between each course by Cazes.
Thai cookery courses
The Halkin Hotle’s renowned Thai restaurant Nahm is offering a series of cookery courses over the next few weeks. Head chef Matthew Albert will guide students through traditional Thai recipes, covering a variety of skills and techniques so they can create a meal themselves at home. Each class will contain no more than eight guests and take place in Nahm’s kitchens. They will run from 10am-3.30pm on 19 February, 12 March and 9 April.
