Nobu Matsuhisa at Nobu, and Valentine’s house party at Ackergill Tower

An audience with Nobu Matsuhisa ​

For just three nights only over Valentine’s weekend, Nobu Matsuhisa will be flying into London to host unique umami and sake dining experiences at Nobu Old Park Lane. Just 60-covers per evening will be able to hear Matsuhisa speak in person about the tradition, design and creation of his cuisine. Sake will be paired with predominantly umami dishes, including King Crab Tempura with Amazu Ponzu, and Grilled Wagyu Steak with Jerusalem Artichookes. Seats are available at £260 per person.

House party of love​

Gleneagles chef Andrew Fairlie will be hosting a “Food of Love” house party from 25-28 February at 25-bedroom Scottish castle Ackergill Tower. The weekend includes all meals, which have been designed by Fairlie using local produce, plus Champagne, wine, drams and sloe gin. The house party is available for £1045 per person.

Light Valentine’s afternoon tea​

Metropolitan London’s Met Bar is offering Valentine’s Day diners a “De-Light” afternoon tea, which the hotel claims is light on calories but loaded with aphrodisiacs. Cupcakes, no-bread sandwich pots, macaroons and Champagne feature in the afternoon tea, which can be booked between 9-14 February, and come complete with a £15 voucher to spend at Lingerie Collective.

Special opening​

Searcy’s The Portrait Restaurant will be offering a four-course menu on Valentine’s Day, despite normally being closed on a Monday. Set on top the National Portrait Gallery, the restaurant will offer diners spectacular views across London as they dine. The Valentine’s Day menu, which includes a glass of Rose Champagne, is priced at £58.
